Sofia is anticipating a charity concert on Christmas night at the National "Ivan Vazov" Theater.

The concert is part of the "Bulgarian Christmas" initiative, held for the eight year in a row, under the patronage of President, Georgi Parvanov, and First Lady, Zorka Parvanova.

Actors, Kalin Vrachanski and Elena Petrova, stars of the Bulgarian hit TV series "Glass House," will be the hosts of the 2-hour show to be aired live on the TV channel bTV.

A record number of performers – nearly 100 Bulgarian star musicians, singers, and dancers will take part in the charity concert.

At the end, the hosts will announce the total amount of the raised funds.

The funds, collected through the charity campaign, will be used for the treatment of Bulgarian children and the purchase of medical equipment for hospitals.

The donations are made through phone calls and short text messages (sms). The amount collected so far in 2010 is over BGN 0.5 M.
